Landing a vision for Kāpiti together
Throughout 2023/24 your councillors have made it a priority to work with communities on a vision that will enable a future that is sustainable and guide Council planning now, and over the next couple of decades.
As a district, we need to come together to talk about the change we want to see and to set aspirations for Kāpiti.
Your feedback will help to inform our vision. We need our vision to show our community’s future in a way that anyone living in Kāpiti can quickly grasp and appreciate – what our environment will look like and how future generations will live daily.
A clear district-wide vision will help guide Council planning, decision making, programmes, services, and advocacy, for decades to come.
How you could have your say
In this first consultation, there were a number of ways your could have your say, both online and in person.
1. You could tell us what matters most to you by sharing your ideas:
- What would you like life in Kāpiti to look and feel like in 2060 and beyond?
2. You could drop a pin on our map, and tell us what we need to focus on, change or improve:
- Need now (tomorrow)
- Need soon (over the next couple of years)
- Need in the future (5 years plus)
3. You could ask us a question.
4. You could have your say on our Vision Kāpiti 'key topics'
Next steps
We’ve looked at all of the feedback we’ve received so far and have identified some key themes that show what’s important to your community. Your feedback is now available in a summary report and some of the key themes have been presented in a pictographic map.
